Introduction blog

 1. What is your name?

My name is Smile.

2. What are you Majoring in or planning to Major in at KPU?

I am planning to major in Arts program. Earlier I was in business program but recently shifted to Arts program.

 3. Why are you taking this course?

I was always interested in journalism like how it provides facts or relevant information regarding a particular situation, so I thought of taking this course.

 4. What are you hoping to learn in this course?

I read that citizen journalism reaches local communities with news. So, I am just hoping to learn about the impact of citizen journalism in normal lives. How it impacts normal people lives and is there any role of citizen journalism in national or international journalism?

5. What is the best place you’ve ever visited?

My home country is India, and it is known for its spirituality and religious places. So, there is one place in India known as Vrindavan that is my favorite place ever. It is basically famous because of Lord Krishna. Vrindavan has lots of temples and tourist places. When I was in India, I visited Vrindavan frequently and that becomes the best place for me.

 6. What do you like to do in your spare time?

Recently, I discovered that I am more into cooking and sketching. In my spare time either I learn more about cooking or into sketching.

 7. What is one thing you recommend to others and why?

I could recommend a video game 'The Last Of Us'. It is a action-adventure series is set twenty years into pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection, which causes player to transform into zombie like creatures and collapses society. It's a very interesting game to play. In this game there are 13 locked doors throughout the game that hold a bounty of useful items. But Joel (the main character) can only unlock them with Shiv. Doing so is definitely worth it.

  6. Hello Smile, nice to meet you! Moving away from the business program to the arts is an interesting switch. The fact that you are passionate about journalism and the way it makes facts inspires me -it is surprising to see how differently a journalist can make us interpret what happens in our world. I wonder too about citizen journalism and the role it plays in our daily lives as well as on a wide-ranging scale. Vrindavan sounds like a magical place, filled with spirituality and history. Cooking and sketching are such rewarding hobbies that, amazingly, you get pleasure from them! I heard so much about the Last of Us and it seems to be a thrilling game for me. Thanks for sharing your insights.
